About Us

It all started with a beer in Munich. After that beer, we realised that good beer is not just a drink; it is a matter of craftsmanship, balance and character.

The idea grew into a curiosity that began with homebrewing. With the help of friends and family we sourced malt, hops and yeast and started brewing at home — trying, learning, improving. Then we decided to take this passion further.

Our first step was to brew two different beers in Belgium. That process improved our brewing experience and brought a new flavour to the Turkish craft scene. Then we said, "it is time to brew on our own soil," and established our brewery in Ikitelli, Istanbul.

The Journey

  1. Munich inspiration

    A beer in Munich showed that good beer is a matter of craftsmanship, balance and character.

  2. Homebrewing

    Malt, hops and yeast were sourced and home brewing experiments began.

  3. Brewing in Belgium

    The first two beers were brewed in Belgium; Mosaic IPA traces back to a beer fair in 2017.

  4. 2020 — Brewing in Istanbul

    Production moved to Istanbul; Belgian Blonde has been brewed here since 2020.

  5. Ikitelli brewery

    The production facility in Ikitelli, Istanbul was established.

Today, as 3 Kafadar, we create our own recipes with carefully selected raw materials from different regions of the world. We combine traditional methods with modern techniques, brewing additive-free beers with character.

Each of our beers offers a different experience — some smoky, some fruity, some balanced and classic. What they share is a respect for quality, balance and creativity.
